One of Mozambique's finest rappers Laylizzy has finally released his much anticipated project, The Young Nino Brown EP. The seven track body of work sees the rapper feature only three artists in Emtee, KLY, and Mark Exodus. The EP has an upbeat feel to it with Laylizzy mostly choosing to jump on trap instrumentals rapping about topics ranging from his struggles, his success, and future endeavours.
He uses the first five songs on the project to get us turned up, warming us to the idea on Bom Dia where he raps about some of the struggles he faced during his childhood before he introduces us to some of the ideas we get to hear him rap about on the rest of the project. The boldness Laylizzy gives out on this first track definitely lays the groundwork for the rest of the project.
Rightfully so, the rapper released Tic Boom as the lead single to the project and although most of the songs on the project are trappy and upbeat this song stands out with its messaging. The rapper has a witty play on the idea of blowing up as an artist. The aggressive self endearing raps spill over to the next three tracks on the project with him rapping about his impressive, yet inexpensive, style on Big Swag and then tapping Emtee for a street anthem in Pull Up.
Party Favors marks a change in the mood of the EP to a more reclined feel that sees him and another Ambitiouz Entertainment signee, KLY, sing about the love other people's girls are showing them. The following tracks, the sixth and seventh, see him maintain the melodic mellow vibe even more. Love Me Now is a relatable tune that sees the rapper address people that don't show him affection whilst he climbs the ladder of success. I Want It All, on the other hand, sees him jump on a smooth RnB instrumental to divulge what he is willing to do to obtain the highest level of success.
This project had the potential to be monotonous due to its heavy trap influence, especially during its early stages, however, Laylizzy does a great job in switching it up through using different concepts on the various songs. You can peep the new body of work below:
