@CassperNyovest Partners With @UMGSA For #SweetAndShort Album, Drops First Single With @ShwinoMtekhala

Cassper Nyovest just upped the ante with his latest announcements that come in the truckloads, and to seal that all off, he also shares new music. Let's start from the beginning shall we?

Cassper Nyovest has just announced that the quest to find his Fill Up Moses Mabhida interns is underway with interviews taking place tomorrow in Durban, along with him revealing the full line of the event. Now, what we all didn't see coming was the possibility of album from him this year since he had set out to exhaust Thuto visually this year. He has, however, previously toyed with the idea of dropping another project and alas, Sweet And Short is upon us. Cassper announced that he is releasing a full kwaito project as per request of his fans and with that revealed the partnership between his independent music imprint, Family Tree, as well as Universal Music Group. He and his artists will now be working with Universal Music Group going forward, starting with his kwaito influenced project which is set to drop on the 1st of December at Fill Up Moses Mabhida. As if that was not enough, Cassper has moved to share a brand new single alongside the legendary maskandi duo, Shwi noMtekhala, which is a perfect fusion of elements. Sponono Sam is a mix of afropop with a kwaito underbelly, not forgetting the undeniable maskandi guitar draped around the entire track. As the song plays, you can almost feel your body involuntary do the "step," just like you would find yourself doing at a wedding. For those of you who know your afropop, tell me if your brain automatically expected the drop of Malaika's 2 Bop at the opening of this song? I think I'm excited to hear what this album will sound like 'cause Cassper has really done well in bringing kwaito to the new generation in his own way and this album should be a feast.
