We've been saying, it's the year of the fire movie soundtrack. More than that, however, the influence of hip hop across the globe is now undeniable as a majority of the movie soundtracks this year were given to hip hop artists and producers to put together. Now that's impact!
The next joy we will be getting is from the soundtrack of the highly anticipated Creed II movie starring our international bae, Michael B. Jordan, with a soundtrack provided by Mike WiLL Made-It. The sought after producer dropped the album's tracklist earlier this week and it's looking like a fire waiting to erupt if we may say so. Ahead of its arrival, he unleashes a new collabo between him, Kendrick Lamar, and Pharrell for The Mantra. The single finds Pharrell adorning a heavy hip hop delivery which we haven't had from him in a minute. It stems from the singing we've come to know him for but something tells us he tailored it even closer to the current trap sound to meet up with K.Dot on this banging beat. Kung Fu Kenny, on the other hand, comes in gliding on the bouncy song which carries an empowered aura in its very fibre. Is it remotely possible to be more excited about a soundtrack than you are about the actual movie? Hmm, I think we are torn in the lines on this one. Press play and help us decide:
