Cop @FrankCasino_ Heroes Of Tomorrow EP Today!

By @Spokenpriestess on 11/09/2018 in News

The scene is set for the perfect birthday as Frank Casino drops his 4 track EP, Heroes Of Tomorrow, for the fans today. The leader of the new skool kicks off the festivities of your weekend with this brief presentation while we await something bigger, like an album nyana? Let me leave that talk for now and focus on the present.

Frank Casino opens up the project with his lead single, Come Alive, which he recently blessed us with visuals for. Falling deeper into the project, he gives us a variant perspective of his artistry as one can imagine that his sound has been somewhat boxed to a certain expectation with the kind of hits he's given us recently. Black Metallic is a laid back number, almost drawn from slow trap influences juxtaposed with rapid-fire flows to bring balance to the track. On this track you can't deny Frank's ability to hold the fort should bars be required, yet, he's not going out of his way to prove that.

One big thing to derive from this project is his poised musicality which continues on Here We Are finding him on his Come Alive wavelength, flipping it with a staccato delivery style that compliments Skull-E's more fluid flow. I need to note that Skull-E's contribution to the song adds a freshness in how his higher pitched (and effected) voice compliments Frank's signature deep voice. Here We Are is such a vibe. It sounds like youth, success, brotherhood, and even tropics if you escalate the feel good vibes on this song.

He seals off the EP with Sudden which is an interesting combination of an uncanny collaboration in Cassper Nyovest and Major League DJz. This track is reminiscent of Black Metallic in its fibre with a buzzing street cypher atmosphere embedded in it. Mufasa enters the track with a royal sway that's not new to you but is always a pleasant gift when he puts on his "I'm finna rap on this," mode. Look, I'm a big fan of compact projects - mostly owed to my line of work - but also because it allows you to consume the music even more on a repetitive scale so I'm certainly feeling this EP. I feel like I just got introduced to a renewed Frank Casino of sort, if not in the sound, it's certainly in the aura (if you pick it up on the project). I'm definitely looking forward to his album if this is what his EP is sounding like. Happy birthday to the young king!
