Get Ready For The @SA_HipHopAwards Nominees Announcement Next Week Monday!

The road towards the 7th annual South African Hip Hop Awards is about to kick off as the submissions process is well at bay and the nominees have been finalised. Next week Monday at 13:00 we will find out who made the shortlist for the coveted award ceremony's categories. 

Taking to social media, one of the event's organising members, Rashid Kay, has gone ahead and confirmed the time of announcement. Tickets for the awards are already on sale at Computicket with the main event being pinned down for Wednesday, 19th of December. The awards are always like a big family gathering where hip hop heads from all walks of the spectrum gather to honour each other, and celebrate each others' strides over the past year. Like any other family, there is always a squabble here and there with artist boycotts, stray bullets, and the usual dissatisfaction with the running of the awards, but I think the bigger thing is to put some respek on the efforts that Ritual Media Group is making to take hip hop's narrative into their own hands. We would like to take this moment to recognise the organising team and all its partners for their endless contributions to the game in every form. Set your reminder, and order the pop corn, Monday we are watching a movie at 13:00. Good luck to all the candidates who submitted and all those who will be in the running for a SAHHA in 2018.
