It's so hard to believe that Jabba is no more. In what has been possibly the hardest year for SA Hip Hop in terms of losses, HHP adds to the list of soldiers we've lost too soon after his passing last week Wednesday. While his loved ones, fans, and colleagues the world over mourn him, Themba Lunacy has taken it upon himself to put together an hour mix to celebrate his music.
Talking from experience, an hour is not nearly enough to try and highlight the extensive work this legend has done with a catalogue as long as his Daraja Walk, yet Themba does his total best. The mix takes you through a lot of Jabba's most important work fusing his introspective works like his Endurance feature, Go Diragalang, See, and Let Me Be, with some of his more upbeat classics like Make Monyeke, Mpitse, Wamo Tseba Mtho, Past Time, and Music & Lights. As his memorial services are to be held this week, it really dawns on you while the music plays on that you will never see him on stage again. Neither will you hear him drop a random freestyle in studio, or even hear that chunky laughter of his. Goroga ka kgotso Tau Tona. PULA!
