It's that time of the year again as we welcome back the AFRIMAs as they celebrate proudly African music as well as our artists. The 5th annual AFRIMAs will be taking place later in the year, ushering in a slew of African musicians and nominees as well as some heads of state to commemorate local music. A bunch of South African artists including AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Rouge, and Kwesta managed to bag various nominations and will be among the many African hit makers gracing the AFRIMA Awards, but that's not all. 

Shekhinah is among the artists leading with 6 nominations in categories such as Best Southern African Artist, Songwriter Of The Year, as well as Revelation Of The African Continent for her song, Please Mr. 

Among local hip hop nominees are Nasty C, Makwa, Nadia Nakai and Frank Casino, Emtee, as well as Shane Eagle. Voting is now open so be sure to check the AFRIMA website, register, and cast your poll to help your favourite artist win! Check out some of the nominees below:
