@Gigi_Lamayne Speaks Out Against Women Abuse With #KozeKubeNini

The rampant abuse and killing of women in South African has hit an all time high this past year as we've witnessed many a daughter, girlfriend, sister, mother, and more die at the hands of men much too often. Gigi Lamayne being the socially vocal emcee that she is has decided to put her thoughts to paper, and visual, by retelling the story with a touching song titled Koze Kube Nini.

Accompanied by common collaborators, Eminent Fam, Gigi shares the song with the full visuals after she announced it last week. Set in a couple's home, we see Gigi play the role of a mother and partner to a drunkard who doesn't seem to appreciate her in the least bit. Without getting too violent, Gigi's video depicts common scenes that play out in many a South African household leading to daunting headlines about an abused woman, and in the worst case scenario - her brutal death. Working hard to cook, clean, and do laundry, Gigi's character does this all with a baby on her back only to later take her own life at the end of the video owed to the abuse she suffers at the hand of her partner. This is so heartbreaking because she is not making up this imagery in the video, these are occurrences that have alarmingly become frequent of late. As a woman in South Africa right now, you constantly live in fear for your life because of the high level of violence reported against women on the daily.
