Words will fail to encompass the importance of Ben Sharpa's music and his contribution to the foundations of SA hip hop as we know it. We had to take a step back when the news broke out before we could say, tweet, or write anything about him. As opposed to trying to encompass just who he is and what he means to the culture, we want to share the love his people have for him.
Ben Sharpa, born Kgotso Semela, passed on yesterday morning owed to health complications after being hospitalised. We send our love and warmth to his family, friends, and all the fans he's touched in his path. More spirit my Kaptin, you will never be forgotten.
