The Internet have been promising their new album Hive Mind for some time now and they have been warming us up by releasing songs like Come Over and La Di Da. They finally released the full length project this past weekend and the lengthiest song on it is Next Time/Humble Pie.
As the title of the song suggests the song is made up of two parts, both with different feels to them. The first part sees Syd wrestle with herself to approach a woman, but fear and hesitation get the best of her. This part has a mid-tempo drum pattern to its instrumental. The beat switches up to a dreamy, slower tempo one through the song and sees her change her conversation to how she thinks a lady needs a real lover. This part can be taken as a spin off the first part, where she is talking about how the lady she wanted to approach needs a real love. She continues to wrestle with her fear of rejection even on the second part saying she does not want that "humble pie." Check the song out and tell us your thoughts:
