Every now and then, as a running spirit, you often have to pause to refresh and recuperate yourself as life can take a toll on you. This is the case with rising star, PatrickxxLee, who has taken the brave decision to check himself into rehab to find help with his depression.
Patrick just came off a national tour with Nigerian superstar, Ice Prince, and Strafitti, and he has decided to take a break from music and everything else that does not focus on his healing. He says that he has been avoiding dealing with a lot of issues in his life and they have caught up with him. After weeks of excessive drinking and contemplating suicide, he checked into a clinic for treatment.
We share this message with you because even though he's not in a good place, he does not want to disappear and suffer in silence, something a lot of young people do. The ignorance, misconceptions, and taboo surrounding depression is what contributes to a lot of young people feeling even more helpless as they fear to speak out about their darknesses. We would like to show our support to Patrick, and in this breath send a message of love and warmth to anyone out there battling their own demons with no help or voice. I am extremely proud of Patrick for standing up for himself amidst this dark cloud and I certainly hope that he can find a renewed path to healing during this process of introspection.
