It's a great day for South African hip hop with new projects coming from all angles and Sjava keeps to his promise to drop off his new EP, Umphako. A couple of days ago, the ATM soldier gave more detail regarding his plans to release an EP, he also shared that he hopes it will be enough to hold his fans down until his official album drops later in the year.
Umphako houses four songs, one being his recent single with Emtee and Saudi titled Abangani. The opening song, Confession, speaks for itself and finds Sjava with his heart on his sleeve confessing his fear of loving someone more than they love him. It's then followed by Abangani and later, Intombi which is more upbeat than the other three songs on the project as Sjava sings his heart out trying to reach out to his female supporters. The project finally closes with Iqhawe which completes the first course Sjava serves to his fans ahead of the entrée which is his album.
Guess it's safe to say that Sjava doesn't disappoint. No news as yet as to when the album will drop but you may purchase Umphako below to warm you up in this cold weather:
