By @Spokenpriestess on 06/08/2018 in News

There's nothing like good news to set your weekend off just right. This week, Forbes Africa revealed their 4th annual 30 Under 30 list which recognises and celebrates entrepreneurs under the age of 30 who are making major moves and changing their worlds while at it. This time around, however, they have incorporated different beats (sectors) of recognition to include business, creative, and technological entrepreneurs.

Here's what Forbes Africa had to say about the new format of the list this year; "We put in months of rigorous research, sifting through over 600 nominations, vetting them for weeks, verifying and investigating them. We favored entrepreneurs with fresh ideas and took into account their business size, revenue, location, potential, struggles, social impact and resilience. A panel of judges then debated the final 90. You may not know many of their names now and they may not be richest people in Africa, but they could be the billionaires of tomorrow gracing our future covers. This compilation is exciting, inspiring and offers a sneak peek into Africa’s future."

In the creative sector, of the 30 listed candidates appear SA hip hop's very own Cassper Nyovest, Kwesta, Nasty C, Anatii, as well as shining star Shekhinah who just walked away with 3 South African Music Awards last weekend. There are more South African stars that include the likes of Thuso Mbedu and Nomzamo Mbatha to highlight a few, but you know we stay checking for how hard SA Hip Hop is being represented in other spheres. Other African musicians listed on the Under 30 list of creatives include Yemi Alade, Falz, Davido, Wizkid, and Sarkodie. We are so proud of our stars for constantly representing the culture, but above and beyond that, owning the narrative of young South African creatives. Congratulations to all the entrepreneurs on this incredible list.
