It's the 8th of June and as promised K.O has come through with the Two Piece after concealing the featured artists leading up to the drop. The streets are buzzing right now as Fire Emoji and Waya Waya cause a sphithiphithi among the fans.
The two track EP comes as a surprise as K.O is still hot off his SR2 drop but according to him, he's got too much music to keep it all locked up in the studio for long. We got to chat to him about the dynamics of the EP, what inspired it, as well as what the recording process was like - look out for that interview a bit later on today. Zooming into the music, the first track featuring AKA is highly welcomed as fans say they have been waiting for a reunion from these two after the monumental Run Jozi collaboration they had years ago. They link up for a buzzing, high pace, trap piece that finds them boxing with the lyrics while also having fun riding the beat. This one is sure to light up the streets. The second track featuring Cassper Nyovest is also cause for a celebration after the K.O and Cassper names were put together in tension owed to a rhyme the latter said alluding to the other in a track following the 2014 (MTV Base) Top 10 Hottest MCs list. The track comes in like the perfect hood anthem, characteristic of both acts, with a deep bass kick and a kwaito influence to it. This one is sure to have wonke abolova pumping it out their whips ekasi.
What a stunning move by K.O, bringing together these heavyweights through his EP. This is a very bold, and highly welcomed move. Add to that, the music is just out of this world, make sure you cop the project.
