@TheeFaithK - #7even

By @Spokenpriestess on 06/07/2018 in Stream & Download

It's the 7th and although Faith K has already shared her newest single with us, that was only the tip of the number scale. We now come to you in full force as we unleash all the numbers under our sleeve, well, just up to 7even. This is the debut album of the upcoming singing talent and it is sure to leave you with feel good vibes. The eleven track project is very relatable with themes of love, youthfulness, and the classic cheeky attitude that any young, black woman possesses. The album takes you through emotions of vulnerability, need, and a touch of despair in love as it begins. Then, gradually, it carries you through to a point where one finally reaches their bullish* threshold and starts enjoying life to the fullest.

The intro, Your Touch, gives you a deep sense of vulnerability which seeps into the hopeful sounding I Promise before you hear Faith bare her heart on Notice Me. She seeks clarity on this track, wondering why the person she's into doesn't really see that she's got what it takes to be his, eish! Many girls will be putting this one on replay. Moving into Butterflies, you hear what Faith sounds like when she's deep in love, the track is dreamy 'causing feel good vibes in your tummy. The whimsical Decline then comes into play which carries a level of command in her voice before you get a touch of slight confusion in Gotta Go as she sounds like she's talking to someone who doesn't seem to pay her any mind. By the time you get to Never Bae she is fed up with a nig%*, you hear it in her attitude as she emits the highest level of savagery on this track.

The album starts to turn over into an upbeat and youthful atmosphere as we seep into her previous single Summertime ft TRK. We then get to hear her sounding all bossy and in control on Juice as she sings with the coolest of demeanour, it helps that the leader of the new kool, 2Lee Stark is on deck with his freshness as well. Not too long after hearing Never Bae, it seems we get another extension of her savagery as she dedicates a song to an ex who has obviously lost out in losing her. Neeh features Nadia Nakai who fits the bossy tone of the song perfectly. I do feel that this song should've closed the album as Burn Me fitts in really well with early tracks like Your Touch, and Butterflies. However, the sexy song in itself does its work in having you in your feels about that special someone that pops up in your mind as you hear it.

Faith K has more than proved herself as a voice to make space for in the game as we prepare to welcome her into conversations about the new generation of musicians who are expressing themselves in their best ways. The album is an impressive body of work that shows her capability to make good music that can evoke certain feelings within you, feel good vibes being the biggest one. You won't regret the play, I assure you.
