One of the great storytellers of our current generation of musicians, PdotO, finally shares the touching motion picture of his latest single I'm No Vulture. The visual is set in the hood where PdotO is at the centre of the ebb and flow of his surroundings.
The visual opens with Thokozile singing in an open space, barefoot yet dorning a very glittery gown - almost as if they were deliberately going for the juxtaposition between rags and riches in the same space. We then see her as a mother with her child in some frames before PdotO appears almost as a messenger in his own video while life in the hood carries on around him. We see a man handling cement, a chicken coop setup behind Pdot, and a group of girls practicing their traditional dance act. All these pictures flash across the scene throughout the visual while later we also see PdotO standing at a monument rapping about trying to keep afloat, praying for better days for not only himself but his people as a whole. Thokozile joins him in this new location, sitting on the staircase miserable with a glass of wine in hand looking like she's a long life of bad days. Girrrllll, we know! Although the visual doesn't follow an obvious storyline, you get the stark message of hardship, courage, and survival, something the black community knows a lot about. We love PdotO for always using his platform to speak on the real issues in his heart and all around him. We're patiently waiting on Under The Sun.
