It's award season and we're kicking off with the coveted South African Music Awards which are now in their 24th year of running. As per usual, we sat on the edge of our seats for the nominees' announcement waiting to hear who of our own made the cut. Here is the low down, and just to highlight the fact, Rouge is the first ever female to be nominated for Best Hip Hop Album in all history of the SAMAs. To add to the shine of SA Hip Hop, the Music Video of the Year category is STRICTLY occupied by rappers. What's that thing we keep saying about the new boundaries our music videos are pushing of late? DAT WAY!
