@Lebogvng - Clips EP

By @Lenoir on 04/18/2018 in Projects You Should Hear

A rapper named Lebogang who goes by the name Gvng has released a new project titled Clips which he hopes is his last project by himself. Complete with ten tracks, the rapper shares vivid stories about his past and how hard he's working to prove a point to those who don't believe in him. His lyricism is impressive, which will have you wondering why someone would doubt it as mentioned in the opening track, 2017's Over/ Diamond's Shining. Slikour's Email is a definite highlight, not only because of the honourable mention but because of Gvng's introspective lyrics. He talks about a new beginning and constantly feeling like a failure because of the pressure. He goes on to talk about people not understanding his music, thus not believing in his dream of making it in the game. The songs have laid-back production, and that coupled with the conscious lyrics produces some of the best musical pieces you'll hear from a young rapper.

This is an impressive body of work and I can understand why people don't get Gvng's music, not a lot of aspiring rappers make the sort of music he makes which means he's unique - not weird. Looking forward to his next project, enjoy!
