We have yet another victory for hip hop, proudly brought to you by Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick Lamar's DAMN. album has been doing the most as far as awards go. He walked away with five Grammy Awards in 2017 and also received a Britz award for the 14 track project. As if that was not enough to show us that the project was truly a masterpiece the man has just added to his award collection after having been awarded The Pulitzer Prize in music for the album. This is prestigious because the award has never gone to an artist in popular culture, let alone a hip hop act before. The organisers sighted one of their reasons for passing him the award being as the album capturing the complexity of modern day African-American life. This is just another indication that DAMN. is truly a work of art.
Congratulations to @kendricklamar, @dangerookipawaa and @Interscope! #Pulitzer pic.twitter.com/fFQBYnoW9F
