@DEEXCLSV - #TwoHoursFromGPark EP

By @Spokenpriestess on 03/26/2018 in Stream & Download

The arrival of DEE XCLSV's much promoted Two Hours From G-Park is finally upon us and it is quite the ear raiser. If you ever had your doubts about DEE, you must leave them at the crossroad from today onwards as you step into the walk of the believers. The 8-track piece gives you an in into DEE's thoughts and character, allowing you to connect with him through the music.

The project immediately hooks you with the humble instrumental for S.I.M.W as it opens with some voices, one being Kwesta's praising DEE for his impeccable rap skills. Somehow you know that you're off to a good journey with this project. You then step into a more upbeat Facts which flaunts his singing ability as he mans the hook before he finesses in the verses with a firm level of braggadocio. He then calls upon his familia Luna Florentino for a continuation of the vibes we got in the previous track for All I Know. Which parties are these that these guys go to 'cause they are clearly living their best lives? WOW. As the fellas show off about their game and allure, they fall into 100K which is more of a hustler's number in comparison to their playful side we just got exposed to. This track is definitely for the streets as the flows are mad bossy and the money talk accentuates where their focus is, on the business.

Coming from the slow tempo 100K, WTVR picks up the mood with the feel good vibe you kinda got in the opening on S.I.M.W. I think these are my favourite two tracks on the EP. I can definitely hear this particular track cross over on many radio stations and playing in the clubs. There's something about it that makes you wanna dougie or nay-nay. Ps. No more talks about a feature verse from DEE if you don't have the bag. We have dropped EP's now, sibadala! Onto the next with Jiggy Sh! as DEE continues to flex his party stripes with the banging tracks. The production on the project is mad crisp, you can't fault it and the arrangement works well where continuation is concerned. The features being minimal is also a perfect gateway for DEE to show us that skill he's got up his sleeves. We're loving how the boys are rapping their lives off on this track even though it can easily double into a party track. We did not come here to play with yo'll! On that note, we just got ourselves a new getting-ready-to-hit-the-town anthem with Weekend which also features Luna Florentino. Again, the raps are marked present on the class list as you can never front on them. DEE and Luna are definitely people to watch out for this year. The homie does well to close off the project with the acclaimed Flex Life instead of placing it anywhere else in the tracklist.

An impressive body of work that you can tell was not half-stepped on. From production to the writtens, DEE means business and he's a promising name to add to the conversation of emcees in the new school. I can bet on him in a cypher and feel safe. Add to that the fact that he makes good music. Issa magical ting!
