Every radio head knows what the radio awards mean, they are the equivalent of the SAMAs for music, the SAHHAs for SA Hip Hop, and the SAFTAs for film and television, only on a much higher level. As the nominations came out yesterday afternoon, we bumped into a nomination for SA Hip Hop in Metro FM's The Absolute Hip Hop Show hosted by DJ Speedsta and Loot Love every Saturday between 18:00 and 22:00 for the Best Music Show on a commercial station.
This is awesome! The magnitude of the show is recognised on a national radio platform such as this one which is not genre specific so you know it's a big deal. Shout out to the team that puts the show together weekly and good luck for the awards. The gala dinner where the winners will be announced is to be held on the 14th of April pre-luded by their conference during the day ahead of the finale in the evening.
