In R-Mean we trust 'cause he will never let us down. One of the most relentless emcees on my radar right now drops off yet another lyrical onslaught titled Vocal. I'm starting to feel like I need to sit down with Mean to just talk about where all these raps come from. I mean?
He calls on VI Seconds and Blackjack for a public service announcement about their grievances with "new age" hip hop. These are purists and they will never be caught dead trapping and doing everything else the "Lil" rappers with dreadlocks are doing. You also won't find them singing on a rap song 'cause they don't care for none of that, around here it's bars all day till the death of us. This braggadocious track is enough to get a few dreaded feathers ruffled and the frank lyrics are something that gun shots are made of. My favourite part about the song is the eloquence with which they deliver these vapours, they are seasoned emcees with a clear mission to be vocal about issues that clog up their chests. The level of command and power in this track is quite attractive, to me at least. Rap'ang bo mrapper!
