@manifestive - Simple Love (Short Film)

Never have I been captured by the non-existent, yet screaming, words of a dancing body and the constant ebb-and-flow of her surroundings like this. The magic that is M.anifest's latest music video will have you wishing you could either speak dance, or simply that you could have what the song is about. 

The location for Simple Love seems set somewhere in Ghana (correct me if I'm wrong) where dancer Angelica Kankam almost looks like a mad woman as she swirls around the buzzing street where locals are going up and down in their daily activities. As you follow her, you begin to fall into her story but you also get pulled into the surroundings as she dances around and next to people who are not part of her routine. You clutch your pearls as she tip toes next to people who are balancing parcels on their heads, or carrying buckets of water that she might cause to spill in her near intrusive spells. It's so magical how she paves a world of her own, dead in the middle of the "real world." My favourite part is where she spots a "suiter" whom she graces with some silent words of the body, making you wish they would then dance together but she goes off in a dramatic run before she rests her body facing downwards for a long time before the soliloquy is over. DAMN B! M.anifest is undefeated in his mission to tell compelling African stories with every new song and he tirelessly creates food for thought with his visual depictions. THIS IS ART.
