We get a gloomy collaboration between Philadelphia rappers Kur and PnB Rock as they paint dark pictures about the stark reality of hood life. PnB owns the hook with his dreamy vocals that sound like he's singing against a window while it pours outside.
Kur drops some hard bars narrating drive-bys, drug addiction, and a level of hopelessness in all the activities that happen in the hood. Fortunately, there's a tinge of hope towards the end of his second verse as he gives courage about the fact that he made it out. Damn! This is what we're talking about, music that speaks to the truths of the people the artists are making it for. I grew up in a village but this song has me sunk deep in the images of the hood too.
