@fakaloice_pa - Emhlabeni EP

SOL Incubator's P.A drops off a brand new EP for the streets and he strips things all the way down on this one. You don't know what to expect as you tap into Emhlabeni but as soon as it plays, you get drawn into P.A's sincerest of thoughts.

He opens the project with an emotive Ngilalele which will have your heart soft for him as he tries to get through to his lady who seems to not want anything to do with him. His and Mizzy's voices on the track definitely add to that effect of heartbreak and sadness. Okay, you got us in our feels too bro! The emotive atmosphere continues well into Thetha Nami which sounds like a twist of the previous song. As opposed to asking for an ear, he's asking to hear some guidance from the heavens. Life is hard and he is on his knees asking for a sign, or any word, on what he needs to do to better his life. I feel this one in the crevices of my heart 'cause the way they effected his voice and added that traditional authenticity in the ululations and chanting adds a level of urgency to the song. This is immaculate work if you ask me. All that begging and crying out loud accompanied by the classic keys of a piano which always signify soft emotion is brilliant.

P.A continues to "blues" in Wawukuphi as he questions the presence of people while he was going through a hard time. Iyoh! Who hurt you P.A? This is such an amazing presentation and its brief nature makes it that much more of a statement. P.A is vulnerable, relatable, and very truthful in his expressions on this EP. The closing track, Ngixolele, seals the experience of being in his deepest thoughts with a classic self evaluation and repentance. From the beginning of this project, he has touched on multiple angles of despair by appealing to a lover, then a higher power, followed by speaking to people who don't know what he's been through, ending with a conversation about self and an apology about the kind of child he has turned out to be. This is insanely well thought out. Once again we get the subtle chants and ululations in the song which add a level of drama to the track. This is the definition of black boy magic at its best. YOUNG AFRICAN RAP! My heart is flying.
