January 15th is Marting Luther King's birthday and while Americans, and the world over celebrated his special day yesterday, a lot of rappers dropped music in his commemoration. This includes the likes of Quavo, and of course Young Thug who names his first release of 2018 after him.
Young Thug is essentially living the new age American dream as a successful artist as he draws from MLK's famous words, "I have a dream." The song is very classy with a piano bass merged with some 808's and booming bass. He teams up with Trouble and Shad Da God who join in sharing their success stories and the good life throughout the track. The point of the matter being that the likes of MLK contributed to their rags-to-riches stories in their fight for civil rights and equality. We obviously know that it's not yet uhuru for people of colour but every small success is worth a celebration. We're snapping our fingers with you Thugger!
