The GOAT, Eminem, is gearing up for the release of his much teased album Revival and in support of that, he drops the next song from the project. Untouchable will give you rock vibes right off the bat but as you listen closer to Eminem's rhymes you get drawn into a tumultuous story embedded in this song.
In a way, the production on this track adds to the menace of Eminem's topic as he raps essentially about white privilege and being stuck in the middle 'cause he's white but has issues with the way black people are being treated in comparison to his kind in the States. Phew! This song is quite heavy. We're loving the beat switch up halfway through the song where Eminem raps from the perspective of a black American against the backdrop of children's voices and gunshots in the far distance. He literally gives us two worlds; the white privileged boy who is exempt from everything because of their fairer skin, versus the poor and systematically oppressed black person who just wants to live in peace and stay safe (from the police). OG hasn't lost his touch. Did you see the album tracklist?
