Mick Jenkins shares his state of mind with a new 7 track EP titled Or More: The Anxious as he explores feelings and pressures of making music according to industry formulas. One of the favourite tracks so far seems to be Happy Gilmore which sounds very grungy with a tinge of haunting in the beat.
Mick is someone I consider a purist artist in the way he writes his music and expresses himself through rhyme. Although this monster Origami beat is kinda dark, there's a beautiful calm in it that keeps you latching onto Mick's vivid pictures painted by his laid back, yet succinct flow. The brief track falls in just as quickly as it leaves your ears the minute you slip deeper into Mick's voice. It's beautiful. Happy lazy Friday!
