Zarro is a young producer from Pretoria who has been making music for a while now and got a huge opportunity to compete with fellow producers at the Battle Of The Beatmakers this year. The show is international and he was there to represent South Africa and the continent as a whole against producers from all around the world. Amongst over 60 competitors, by God's grace Zarro found himself in the semifinals at number three although Bennie D eventually won the competition. The competition has not received much coverage in South Africa which is probably why not many people know about it.
Although he did not get to be the winner, Zarro says that he was more than grateful to get to showcase his talents to the world and be able to make the top 3. He mentions that he was approached by Wondagurl, who's produced for Travis Scott, who told him about how much she loved the beats. This was a pat on the back for Zarro and a moment that gave him the drive to continue working hard on his craft. Congratulations to him and we hope to see him make major moves in the country in the coming year.
Check out some videos of his performance:
The only video I could find so far of a performance from last night. Last 32 victory against Amoo Beats from Toronto. Africa jokes all round, I wanted to incorporate it in, & I think we did the continent fairly well in the end ???? pic.twitter.com/Qy9KHGrD6v
