YoungstaCpt is an undisputed music champion, a rap athlete like no other. This morning he sends a text with not one, but two new links to brand new singles. This guy?
He's currently in Melbourne, Australia, for another edition of his International Naa%$r tour but that doesn't mean that the music takes a break as can be seen. Being on his return trip to Australia, he shares some work that he and prolific producer Godriguez got up to while he was down there last year. The first one being Jungle Crooks which also coincides with the second single titled Mowgli.
Jungle Crooks puts YoungstaCpt spat in the middle of Australia's world renowned wild life making us imagine him with a mic stand in the jungle as he draws inspiration from mother nature herself. The production is mad infectious with a needle (on a vinyl) sample in some parts of the beat, as well as some mad hi-hats accompanied by the amazing synthetic kicks and bass. So sophisticated.
Mowgli on the other hand is more personal as his late grandmother used to call him by this nickname since he's a fan of Walt Disney's motion pictures. This makes it my favourite of the pair. The personal attachment to the song title shouldn't fool you into thinking it's the softer sounding of the two drops though. If anything, he delves deeper into the jungle leaving the secure spot you imagined him rapping from in Jungle Crooks. On Mowgli, YoungstaCpt more than embodies the actual (boy) character by running through nature's most vicious setting as he raps to the backdrop of jungle sounds courtesy of the brilliant Godriguez. The drums and Aborigine-sounding instruments on this song remove YoungstaCpt and Godriguez from reality, pulling you into an almost scary environment you otherwise wouldn't survive if it wasn't for the former's voice guiding you through the bushes. It's so crazy! I feel like I'm walking barefoot in search for fruit while listening to this song. An immaculate display of imaginative art.
