There's something graceful about the way Mistah F.A.B addresses the president in this audio-visual letter to him. Dear Mr President is no different to many a rapper's disgruntled feelings about a mismanaged presidential seat and on this one, F.A.B speaks on behalf of his people in the ghetto.
We adore how he sits with members of his neighbourhood as he sincerely invites Mr President to at least sit with them to explain why the police keep killing black people for no reason. Herein lies the power of this track, the subtlety in which Mistah F.A.B lays his complaints. He's not mad about situations, he's merely raising them in a "with all due respect," kinda manner. A beautiful display of freedom of expression, compassion and community empowerment. I think we all know that his president will not read his letter even if it landed on his desk. Sorry...
