On the second episode of DJ Supernova's U(SA), he arrives at the OR Tambo airport where he was picked up. We are then introduced to the focus point of the episode, Trace. He had a chance to sit and talk to Dj Sphectacula in Capetown to ask him about his journey as a Dj in South Africa, also asking him about his predictions for the future of the genre. The entire discussion goes back to the theme of the episode, Supernova had Sphe trace back to his come up where he mentioned the origin of Kwaito and how Amunishn gave him hope for SA Hip Hop. The Hip Hop industry in South Africa has come a long way and has become quite fruitful over the years, I totally agree with Sphe on what he said about corporates finally catching on to the wave and investing in some of our artists. Supernova added that the growth of the genre is actually what kept him coming back to try and further bridge the gap between the US and SA Hip Hop industries.
Sphe then concludes the discussion with some advice for cats on the come up; stating that working with other people is beneficial for one's career and also stressing the importance of having industry connections.
