We were at the exclusive KFC Soundbite event where we watched some promising upcoming talent who have been doing well on the chart perform on the evening. We caught up with the gorgeous Mblee who let us into the platform that being on Vuzu Hustle season 2 has created for her. She's definitely a fireball that's coming into her own and we can't wait for her to make a mark in the industry.
Speaking to Cape Town's Phanda he lets us into what inspires his music which is firstly the Eastern Cape Igwitsho flavour, added by the likes of Brenda Fassie, Ringo and Robbie Malinga. Even though he's not from Jo'burg he believes that there's a place in the game for him as his afro-pop/traditional flavour sets him apart from a lot of youngins who are filling the rap scene. We must agree.
We close off with Dala Fam who just dropped his brand new song titled Kids From Limpopo With Dreams, and he explains why he chooses to rap in Tsonga and how difficult it is for Tsonga artists as they are not as frequently represented as other languages like Tswana and Zulu. He also teaches us his electric song charting on the KFC Soundbite platform called Ay Fambe. This boy is a star!
