What a captivating depiction of generational "curses." J.I.D explores the concept of inheritance but on the negative side 'cause a lot of us imagine that we want to leave a "legacy" for our children to come but some legacies are not in the sense of multimillion Rand companies or trust funds. Many legacies are also left behind in traits and behaviour patterns. 

In the visual for Hereditary we see the inclination to infidelity passed on through 3 generations of a daughter who's father often cheated on her mother; to her playing her own husband, and then her daughter cheating on her boyfriend on a night out. It's so insane how "easy" it looks for these ladies to fall for other men but as J.I.D keeps reiterating, "it's hereditary baby..." I imagine that if the ladies had to sit down and ask themselves why they keep doing this, they probably would not even be able to trace it to a generation before them.
