@PatricKxxLee Talks About His Background x #CapsuleFest

By @Lenoir on 09/15/2017 in On The Ground

We introduce a new cat by the name of PatrickxxLee who made his way onto the Capsule Fest line up. He tells us about who he is and what he brings to the table. PatrickxxLee is a budding rapper from Zambia who grew up listening to diverse sounds from different artists, thanks to his father who actually influenced his love for music. The young king mentions getting a call from a Capsule Fest organiser, Nick Kaoma, asking to book him for a show which he, unfortunately, had to turn down as he was out of the country. But as luck would have it, and also thanks to Patrick's dope music, he got a call again this year which later landed him on the line up for the festival. Look at God!

I admire his passion for the music, which is something not many youngins have. Mentioning that he makes relatable music and him wanting to help people with his sounds really speaks volumes. Following our question about his name, Patrick then explains that the XX represents him leaping over other artists, a play on the PlayStation controller/ joystick. You know in some games, tapping the X key multiple times gains you an upper hand like kicking a ball higher or double jumping? That's exactly what it represents, quite creative if you ask me. Look out for Patrick at the Festival on the 16th of September even though he doesn't know what time he'll be on stage, so grab a coffee or energy drink and camp there until you see him. It's gonna be lit, also because of the Jo'burg sun but we'll see you there!
